Live Cap Customisation at Cannes Lions

We partnered with Google and SET Live to deliver a large-scale live customisation experience at Google Beach during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

As part of YR’s long-standing presence at Cannes, the activation transformed Google’s iconic creative archive into a hands-on personalisation experience, allowing guests to design and produce custom merchandise in real time.

The Experience

Guests were invited to design personalised trucker caps using interactive YR kiosks, exploring the Google Doodle archive as the creative foundation for their designs.

Attendees could select from Google’s signature colour system - red, green, blue, yellow, and a surprise purple edition - before building their own unique compositions.

Each design was created through an intuitive digital interface that allowed for fast, creative interaction during the festival.

Live Production at Google Beach

Once completed, designs were sent directly to our on-site production team stationed at Google Beach.

Each cap was printed live during the event, with individual guest personalisation added for a premium finishing touch.

The live production process turned the design experience into a visible, interactive feature of the festival space.

Festival-Wide Impact

Across the duration of Cannes Lions, we produced 3,500 personalised caps on-site, turning Google Beach into one of the most high-traffic and visually recognisable activation spaces at the festival.

The caps became a widely worn festival artefact, extending brand visibility far beyond the activation itself.

The Result

A large-scale creative activation that transformed Google’s Doodle archive into a live, interactive merchandise experience at Cannes Lions.

By combining archival creative content, real-time design, and on-site production, the activation delivered one of the standout experiential moments at Google Beach.
